Harvest Wins Best Film at 15/15 International Film Festival

Collective Noun Filmworks' Harvest (урожай) was named Best Film at the 15/15 International Film Festival 2006. The film also picked up awards for Best Production Design and Best Cinematography (Jim Batt). The awards were presented to the filmmakers at the Gala Night by Festival Directors Amadeo Marquez-Perez and Jacqueline Erasmus.

Harvest, written and directed by Justin Halliday, tells the story of a Russian who comes across a mysterious object.

The film is notable for its lack of dialogue and stunning visual quality, which far surpassed the expectations of a film that was shot and finished in only 15 hours. The oil refineries of Altona Victoria served as a replacement for the desolate countryside of Russia.

In addition to the awards won, Harvest was nominated for Best Director (Justin Halliday), Best Editing (Thuyen Nguyen), Best Soundtrack (Esther Justin) and Best Drama.

Harvest can be seen on the Best of 15/15 Film Festival 2006 DVD. It will be available for viewing soon on the Collective Noun Filmworks website, and is entering the film festival circuit later in the year.

Collective Noun Filmworks is an award-winning independent filmmaking group located in Melbourne, Australia. Harvest is Collective Noun Filmworks' first dramatic production.

The 15/15 International Film Festival is an annual event that focuses on providing emerging and independent filmmakers with an opportunity to produce a short film. The participants are given from 8:00 to 11:00pm to make a film that can be up to 15 minutes in length. This gives the filmmakers just 15 hours to shoot, post-produce, and submit their finished film. The 15/15 International Film Festival is part of the Next Wave Festival, and is supported by the Australian Film Commission and Film Victoria.
